Code refactoring best practices: when its time (and when its not) to do it


About the Project

Because of the increasing sales in their online shop, Steamy Coffee wanted to run better marketing campaigns in order to continue to scale. Also, content on the website should be easier to edit without constant help from the developer.

The brand also wanted to open a "Coffee Club" to gain more engagement through blogs and articles.

The Solution

I used photos of the new product design of the coffee varieties to redesign the store.

I also expanded the About page to show more of the brand's history. In order to be able to analyze the page visits better, I have connected the store to google analytics. Since Steamy Coffee does marketing campaigns via facebook and instagram, I also connected pxels to the store.

In addition, the testimonial section should be renewed. That's why I added a customized slack slider for this store.

Finally, I explained the Shopify Dashboard and the Theme Editor to the client so that the Store Owner is now able to add and remove Store content.

The Result

Steamy Coffe is now able to use Shopify apps and change inputs dynamically in the Shopify Theme Editor. They are connected now to Google Analytics and Pixel to analyse the impact of their marketing campaigns.
